The third workshop of the Heritage Alliance of the New Silk Road (HANSR), 16-19 November 2020, will be hosted online by Nazarbayev University. Titled, Heritage at Risk: Connecting the Tangible and the Intangible, this workshop will explore the dangers facing heritage resources in the Silk Road Region, best practices for mitigating those dangers, and opportunities to leverage heritage assets for sustainable development. This will also be an opportunity to develop a network of scholars, professionals, and students with a common interest in preserving the unique cultural resources of the Silk Road Region.
The workshop will be conducted through the Zoom platform with daily sessions of three hours each, starting from 17:00 Nur-Sultan time (GMT + 6) following the schedule below.
- November 16: Creating Connections: Current Heritage Scholarship in the Silk Road Region
- November 17: Protecting Resources at Risk: Global Practices in Heritage Management
- November 18: Looking Ahead: The Future of Heritage Management in the Silk Road Region
- November 19: Student Presentation and Competition
