IPO’s amazing Business Operations Manager of just over 4.5 years, Gina Barbosa, will be leaving IPO to a newly created administrative manager role with UW Extension on July 5, 2022. Gina has been with IPO since October 2017. In her time with IPO, her contributions have been invaluable, bringing her vast knowledge of UW’s financial policies and systems, expertise in developing budgeting systems, and a willingness to partner in thinking creatively about the work the office does. Her work has helped establish a robust foundation for IPO’s financial systems. She has also provided support for the King-Morgridge Scholarship program, the International Student Services-International Faculty and Staff Services transition, and International Academic Programs in different seasons, and exhibiting a collegiality not just within IPO but across the International Division. Finally, during her time in the International Division, she has been an active member of the Division’s Equity and Diversity Committee and contributing a valuable perspective during the many book discussions and in meetings.
Gina’s last full day with IPO and the International Division will be on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Starting Tuesday, July 5, she will be moving to UW Extension, where she will be applying her prodigious skills to a newly created administrative manager role.
While Gina will still be on campus and in Madison, I’m sure she would appreciate touching base with you before her final day with IPO if you have the chance. Otherwise, when she’s not in the Campus Mall area, you may find her cheering on the UW Women’s Volleyball team at the Field House in the fall. Go Badgers!
